Operating the Kodak DC3400

 

Taking Pictures:

  1. Turn the camera on by pushing the Power button, on the back of the camera, to the right.
  2. To take a picture make set the camera mode dial to Capture.
  3. To view what you are taking a picture of in the preview screen, press the round button to the right of the preview screen.
  4. Zoom the camera by pressing the T/W (telephoto/wide) button, behind the “take picture” button, to get the appropriate zoom.
  5. When you are ready take the picture press the silver, oval shutter button on top of the camera.  Press the shutter button half way down to lock the camera into auto-focus.  When the green light stops blinking take the picture.

 

Reviewing Pictures:

  1. Set the camera mode dial to Review.
  2. Use the right and left arrow, below the preview screen, to scroll through the pictures.
  3. To delete pictures make sure the menu is turned on by pressing the menu button above the preview screen.
    1. Select the picture you want to delete by scrolling to it using the right and left arrow below the preview screen.
    2. Select the trash can by using the up and down arrow to the left of the preview screen and press the round button in between to select it.

 

Connecting to Your Computer:

  1. Make sure the USB cable is inserted into the computer.
  2. Connect the cable to the camera serial port (double arrow).
  3. Set the camera mode dial to Connect and turn the camera on.

 

Inserting Pictures:

  1. Load Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or Publisher.
  2. Go to Insert => Picture => From Scanner or Camera.

 

 

  1. Make sure the Kodak DC3400 Zoom Acquire is selected as the device and click the Custom Insert button.

 

 

  1. Select the picture you want to insert and press the Transfer button.

 

 

Camera Controls:

  1. Select DC 3400 Camera Controls out of the Kodak DC3400 menu.  You can also access this from the insert picture menu by clicking the Camera Controls button above.
  2. Here you can change a number of different settings, including the quality, and resolution.
  3. You can also take a picture from this panel.
