Managing Files Through My Computer
- Double-click on the My Computer Icon.

- Find your home directory and double-click
it. Your home directory will start
with your network username and is indicated as the H: drive.

- Once in your home directory you can move, copy,
delete files, and create folders.

- Use the Cut, Copy, and Paste
buttons to move and copy your files the commands can also be found in the
edit menu. You can also
right-click a file and drag it to a folder. It will then ask if you want to Move Here, Copy
Here, Create Shortcut(s) Here, or Cancel.
- To delete a file, simply select the file and
click the delete button. The
button is depicted as an X. You
can also right click a file and select delete.
- You can select multiple files to move, copy, or
delete by:
- Left-clicking the mouse and dragging over the
files you wish to select.
- Holding the Shift key down and clicking
a range of files.
- Holding the Ctrl key down and selecting
specific files.
- To create a new folder right-click in the window
and select New => Folder, or go to File => New =>
Folder.
- You can change the view of your files by
clicking the Views button and selecting a view from the menu. You can either view Large Icons,
Small Icons, List, or Details.
