Using Word 2000 to Edit and Proof Reports
- After
typing the document, the student or teacher needs to submit their file to
the person proofing the paper via email or floppy disk.
- Open
the document.

- Go to View
=> Toolbars => Reviewing

- This
will activate your Reviewing toolbar.

- Before
you begin editing, click the Track Changes button.

- Begin
editing. Deleted words appear with
a strikethrough. New words appear
in a new color. You can also
highlight words with the highlighter tool.

- You
can also add comments by selecting a word and clicking the Insert
Comments button. This will
highlight the word. When the
cursor is moved over the word, a message will pop up.


- When
you are finished proofing the paper click the Save Version
button. Send the paper back to the
author.

- Open
the edited document and make sure the Reviewing toolbar is turned
on.
- Check the changes made and if you like
them, highlight the changes and click the Accept Change button.

- For
any changes you don’t want to keep, highlight the changes and click the Reject
Change button.

- When
you are finished uncheck the Track Changes button and save your
document.
