American Fidelity - Section 125 Benefits

  • Accident, Cancer, Short-Term Disability/Salary Protection, Flexible Spending Accounts, Group Critical Illness, Term and Whole Life Insurance

403(b) 2% Employer Paid Matching Contribution Plan

  • 2% employer paid contribution is calculated on the employee base salary.
  • Employee must be enrolled in the ESSDACK Ameritime 403(b) program to receive the district match.

KPERS-Kansas Public Employees Retirement System

  • All district employees who work in KPERS-covered positions are members of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Active members contribute 6% of gross earnings to the KPERS system, building years of service toward a future retirement. At retirement the employee will then receive a guaranteed monthly benefit for the rest of their life.
  • Kansas law requires that all eligible employees must be members of KPERS.
  • Go to www.kpers.org and create your personal account. You will be able to view your account balances and Annual Statement, update your personal information, and review your KPERS beneficiaries.

FMLA - Family Medical Leave Act (Employee Rights)

  • Eligible employees who work for a covered employer can take up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave in a 12-month period for the following reasons:
    • The birth of a child or placement of a child for adoption or foster care;
    • To bond with a child (leave must be taken within one year of the child's birth or placement);
    • To care for the employee's spouse, child, or parent who has a qualifying serious health condition;
    • For the employee's own qualifying serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the employee's job;
    • For qualifying exigencies related to the foreign deployment of a military member who is the employee's spouse, child, or parent.

FFCRA - Families First Coronavirus Response Act (Employee Rights)

  • The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act) requires the Federal government to provide all of its employees with paid sick leave and, for employees who are covered under Title I of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), with expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
