High school language classes practiced communication skills sharing their core values using "stand up, hand up, pair up."

WE NEED HELP!

Good Thursday morning, Norwich!! Eagle announcements were led this morning by Addison Denning (sr.) and Ezra Crow (3rd). Go Big Red!

Come out and support high school fall activities and athletics at the Red & White Night! Purchase Booster Club memberships or rent a Norwich flag. All high school students are welcome to participate in the volleyball matches!

Wyatt earned today's Hard Work Selfie! Mrs. Wall was grateful for Wyatt's efforts today. He spent time creating season passes for our home athletic events. These will be available for purchase at our first home football game on September 5th. Family passes are $100 and individual passes are $50. They grant admission to all home athletic events for the entire school year.
If you see Wyatt around, thank him for his hard work!

Wednesday morning announcements with Jate Samuelson (jr.) and Delta Gebers (2nd)! Go Big Red!

9-12 graders are invited to join KAY, an organization focused on service and leadership.

Eleanor earned the Good News Call of the day! Mrs. Allender had this to say about Eleanor: "Eleanor Vavra has had an incredible morning. She stayed on task and worked hard during phonics, was kind to all of her friends, and continues to set a wonderful example for those around her." Well done, Eleanor!

Research shows that starting the day with a good breakfast has many benefits to children! Remember we serve breakfast at all schools each day. All kids are welcome.

Activities for the week of August 25. 🦅

Students in Communications class face the challenge of giving hints using only one-syllable words playing Poetry for Neanderthals.
We’re excited to share that Norwich Middle and High School is launching our Esports program!
What is Esports?
Esports (short for electronic sports) is competitive video gaming, where students compete in popular titles such as Rocket League, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and more — either individually or as part of a team.
Just like traditional athletics, esports builds teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. And while it may look like “just playing games,” it’s so much more.
🎓 College Opportunities & Scholarships
Esports is one of the fastest-growing opportunities for students today:
Over 200 U.S. colleges now offer varsity esports programs.
Wichita State University awards scholarships for Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. and more
Kansas State University awards scholarships for Rocket League and more
Many schools provide scholarships — including full rides — to student players who excel in gameplay, academics, and leadership.
Esports can also open doors to career pathways in technology, broadcasting, coaching, event management, game design, streaming, and more.
📊 How Big Is Esports?
Over 500 million global viewers each year.
Multi-million dollar professional leagues and tournaments.
A growing industry that rivals traditional sports in size and opportunity.
📝 Norwich Esports Sign-Ups
If your student is interested in trying out, sign-up sheets are posted in the school hallways.
Sign-ups will remain open through the end of school on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are open to both Middle and High School students.
Rocket League is open to High School students and Middle School students if they are 13+ years of age with written parental consent
💬 Why It Matters for Norwich
Our esports program offers students a safe, supervised, and structured way to:
Build confidence and leadership skills.
Explore teamwork and strategy in a competitive setting.
Gain opportunities for college scholarships and future careers.
We’re proud to support this new generation of student athletes — both in the classroom and on the screen.
Go Eagles! 🦅
