Below are pumpkins that Mrs. Pickett's 3rd grade students decorated. They decorated a pumpkin based off the main character of a book they wrote a report on. The pumpkins were displayed outside of our community business partner, Citizen's Bank of KS, during trick-or-treat street!

USD 331 will have school today, Oct. 28 as scheduled. It’s wet out & drivers need to be extra cautious but temp is above freezing. Some bridges are slick. I believe we have a window of opportunity to get kids to school before temp drops temporarily. Drive safely.
Weather forecasters can't seem to make up their minds so we will be up early again evaluating the roads & weather. A decision will be made by approximately 6:00 a.m Wednesday. If you hear nothing = regular schedule; other options would be late start or cancellation. Stay tuned.
Due to the deteriorating conditions with sleet, rain and low temperatures, roads across the district are icy and slick. Sidewalks and parking lots at the schools are also glazed over. For that reason, we will be canceling school for today. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020. Temperatures are not forecast to rise about freezing until mid-afternoon. This is not officially a remote day. Due to the continuing bad weather in our forecast resuming after midnight, USD 331 is going to have a 2-hour late start tomorrow, Tuesday October 27. If the weather really deteriorates overnight, then we may revise this decision but we will have a late start at the very least least. Basically everything will be 2 hours later. This is a different "Late Start" schedule from what we have had for the last few years. School will start at 10:00 a.m. We will NOT have morning preschool tomorrow. We will Not serve breakfast. We will serve lunch at the regular time. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. Hopefully by making this decision this evening, that helps parents that need to modify arrangements.

Ms. Boen led our students today in a live streamed diversity demonstration. While these eggs all look different on the outside, when we cracked them open their insides were all the same!! KES is participating in Anti-Bullying week and our students are all "EGGcelent"

The KES Kindergarten Classes would like to give a big Shout Out! to Tab Turner for zooming with their classes today. Mr. Turner is the Fire Chief in Norwich and he discussed Fire Safety with our students today. The students were very engaged. Thank you Mr. Turner! GO EAGLES!

Mrs. Clouse had one student who wanted to play with our remote kid. So we hooked her up to headphones and they played a game together! Love connecting Onsite kids to our Remote kids. #GoEagles
Our Students are doing GREAT wearing masks & distancing. Schools on day 15. We've played football, volleyball, tennis, golf, cross country. We've had some quarantined BUT- The doors are OPEN! Every Day Kids can attend OnSite is a blessing. We've got this! #GoEagles

USD 331 Kingman-Norwich DOES have school tomorrow (Monday, Sept. 14). There has been some confusion due to a previous calendar “floating out there”. We made adjustments to calendar when we delayed start of school. Again- school IS IN SESSION at Kingman and Norwich on Monday. Thanks. #GoEagles
