Upon Kansas transitioning to Phase 1.5 for the reopening plan, the school district unlocked the Tracks in both Kingman & Norwich on Monday, May 18. If all goes well I would like to be able to make playgrounds available soon. If that happens, social distancing will need to followed. We do not have the resources to appropriately sanitize playground equipment at this time. #EaglesUnite

***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** USD 331 Kingman-Norwich Summer Breakfast & Lunch Program The 2019-2020 school year is officially over on May 20, 2020. We know almost 600 students per day took advantage of our emergency pandemic food program over the past 8 weeks. It has been an honor and privilege to provide this essential service to our kids. There will be some important changes you need to be aware of starting Tuesday, May 26, 2020. We will transition to our Summer “Grab & Go” meal program. Our Summer Feeding plan continues to be provided at no cost to young people ages 1-18 as it has been for the past 3 summers. We will Discontinue satellite delivery of meals to all site AFTER May 20. • Meals will still be available at our two production sites: Kingman Elementary School and Norwich School. • We will not deliver meals to any other locations (Spivey, Rago, Adams, Belmont, Murdock, Suppesville, Milton, nor Kingman High Parking Lot or Kingman Hospital parking lot.) Please note the following Important Information that relates to our Student Feeding Program: Wednesday, May 20, 2020 Last Day of Emergency Feeding Program During School Year. We will prepare & distribute meals on the last school day. (May 20) Thursday, May 21 No Food Prepared – No Food Distributed Friday, May 22 No Food Prepared – No Food Distributed Monday, May 25 (Memorial Day) No Food Prepared – No Food Distributed Meal Prep RESUMES on Tuesday, May 26 Tuesday, May 26 Food Preparation Resumes But must be picked up at KES or Norwich School Meals will be prepared and distributed on Weekdays Through July 31, 2020 with the exception of Friday, July 3, 2020 Because Kansas is in Phase 1.5 of the Reopening Plan, we will continue to provide Curbside Pickup between May 26 and June 1. After June 1, IF Kansas transitions to Phase 2, then students and/or parents will need to enter the school cafeterias, go through a lunch line, (maintaining social distancing) and pick up that day’s lunch and a breakfast for the next day. As we have become all too accustomed to, our plans remain fluid and are subject to change in response to the Ad Astra Reopening of Kansas plan. We will do our best to provide consistency and provide meals for our students.

We know Kingman & Norwich Seniors & parents are anxious to hear what plans are for celebrating graduation. All plans are subject to Kansas moving to Phase 2 and to approval by the County Health Officer. The Governor announced today that there could be NO Graduation Events while Kansas is in Phase 1. We plan to have an alternative ceremony the weekend of May 22-24. Times & Details will be forthcoming. We also are planning a more traditional ceremony on Saturday, June 27.

I enjoyed observing Mrs. Graber's and Mrs. Frederking's morning zoom lessons. Mrs. Graber's 3rd grade class took part in a science lesson on severe weather. Mrs. Frederking's 1st grade class took a virtual field trip into the ocean to observe the different sea life. Great job!
