Every Day Counts at Norwich Schools! 📚

Student attendance plays a vital role in academic success. Whenever possible, we encourage families to schedule vacations, appointments, and other non-emergency activities during school breaks, long weekends, and designated no-school days.

We've created this 2026–2027 Family Travel & Attendance Guide to help you plan ahead while keeping your child in the classroom, where the best learning happens.

Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority. Together, we can help every student succeed.

2026 State Assessment Highlights
We’re excited to celebrate the outstanding results from this year’s Kansas Assessment Program! These achievements reflect the dedication, perseverance, and teamwork of our students, families, and staff throughout the school year.

Every score represents hours of learning, encouragement, and hard work — and we couldn’t be more proud of what our students have accomplished.
Thank you to our teachers, support staff, and families for the role you play in helping our students succeed every day. Together, we continue to create opportunities for growth and achievement for all learners.

Scores are reported by performance levels. A level 1 is the lowest score, a level 4 is the highest score. Our goal is to reduce the number of students scoring at level 1, and move students to higher levels of learning.

The following assessment results encompass all schools in the district.

This spring, Norwich Schools completed an exciting literacy initiative thanks to the generous support of the South Central Community Foundation through the One School, One Book grant.

As part of the program, every student in the school (from preschool through 12th grade) received a copy of The Wild Robot. Throughout the second half of the school year, students read the book together in their school families, which included students from multiple grade levels learning and connecting alongside one another. The project created opportunities for students of all ages to build relationships, share conversations about reading, and experience the joy of a school-wide story together.

To celebrate the completion of the book, students gathered in the gym for a special showing of The Wild Robot movie, creating a memorable ending to the shared reading experience.

Norwich Schools would like to extend a huge thank you to the South Central Community Foundation for making this opportunity possible. We also want to recognize the incredible teachers and staff members who went above and beyond to organize activities, lead discussions, and create a meaningful experience for our students throughout the project.

The One School, One Book initiative not only promoted literacy, but also strengthened connections across grade levels and helped create lasting memories for students and staff alike.
