Today kicks off Kansas School Lunch Week! This statewide celebration shines a spotlight on the nutrition professionals who work so hard for our kids each and every day. Local school nutrition programs work tirelessly to provide balanced meals that meet strict state and federal nutrition standards, while also
accommodating student preferences and dietary needs.

Thank you to our amazing nutrition staff who provide so much care and skill in creating school meals that fuel learning and promote healthy habits. We appreciate you!

Dear Students, Families, Staff, and Community Members,

Due to adverse weather conditions and low wind chill values forecasted for our area, all schools in the district will be closed on Monday (January 26, 2026).

The safety of our students, staff, and families is always our top priority. After careful review of current conditions and weather projections, we determined that operating schools would pose unnecessary risk, particularly during morning transportation and outdoor exposure.

Information regarding athletics and activities will be communicated as early as possible tomorrow, if not sooner. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

The Norwich Eagles captured the 54 Classic tournament championship, marking a significant milestone for the Norwich High School men’s basketball program. At 26 years old and in his sixth year as head coach, Nicholas Kyle attained his 100th career win, becoming one of the youngest coaches in Kansas to achieve this accomplishment. Under his direction, Norwich earned a state tournament appearance in 2022 - the school’s first in 26 years. With a 12–3 record this season, the Eagles continue to show steady growth and build upon the foundation established in recent years.

Congratulations to Reagan Smith, Drew Kelly, and Jayden Benge for their selection to the 54 Classic all tournament team! Also, Jayden Benge was named as the tournament MVP! We're proud of you all!

Congratulations to the HS boys for securing the 54 classic championship with a victory over Stafford! Well done, gentlemen! In addition, Jayden Benge earned 1st place in the free throw contest and Lane Hilger earned 1st place in the 3pt contest! Congratulations to the HS girls for their runner up finish! What a great week of basketball for the Lady Eagles!

At this time, we plan to have school as scheduled tomorrow, Friday, January 23, 2026. Current forecasts indicate that snow is not expected to impact our area until Friday night.

We will continue to closely monitor the weather conditions, including predicted wind chill factors for tomorrow. Student and staff safety remains our top priority.

If it becomes necessary to delay or cancel school, we will communicate that information promptly through email, TalkingPoints, and the district’s social media channels. Information regarding activities and athletics will be communicated through the same channels.

January is School Board Member Appreciation Month, and we extend our sincere thanks to our school board members for their service, dedication, and leadership.
